Impact of new HS2022

Back in February, we had a new Sercon HS2022 installed in our lab in Crewe.

The HS2022 is recognised as the world’s most sensitive small-radius Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers. The software and set up differed from existing instruments in the lab, but after training with Sercon’s engineering team, Molly and the lab team were able to start incorporating the new kit in our day to day lab operation.

“The new equipment and the different techniques we can now deploy has allowed us to expand of all the analytical services we offer (deuterium, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur), as well as offering the option of analysing C/N/S altogether, which is a new service for us,” commented MD Mark O’Connor. “Previously we had to offer sulphur analysis separately, so this can also represent a saving to our customers.”
